Sicilia: Etna, Catania, Aci Castello, Golla dell'Acantara Catania the city of gods, Cyclops, seamen and artists.

Aci Trezza the cyclopes islands. Lots of Greek mythology originated from this region.

Aci Castello was built in 1076 by the Normans.

This city started to grow after an eruption of Mt. Etna in 1169, which made the towns around it uninhabitable.

Catania: Katane, which was originally born in 729 BC, was a Greek colony later taken over by the Romans.

It's a pretty big city full of parks and green everywhere.

The ancient Greeks believed that Vulcan, the god of fire, lived in Etna, as did the monster Cyclops.
Mt. Etna. It's freezing cold up there.
Unfortunately, everything you want to see in Sicily in the middle of nature needs to paid for.
A real pity for the tourists who don't like excursions like us.

Hadn't seen this mountain since I was 6 year old. It was only a print in my memory.

Parco Fluviale dell'Alcantara

grotta del alcantara: lava formation

The water is soooo cold your bones seriously start to ache after a minute or two!
